Local Chambers of Commerce for NG7 4AA. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. Dental Surgeries

Cripps Dental Centre

University Park, Nottingham NG7 2RD, UK – 0115 922 8123

Last visited in June 2016. Saw a very nice young lady dentist, whose manner was calm and pleasant - making me relax in turn. Unfortunately, both the fillings she did fell out with the month. I couldn't face returning again (more fool me) and decay and discomfort now set in. Rang last week and after about ten minutes on hold with a recorded, rather harsh and irritating voice helpfully telling me I was 'on hold' every few seconds, I eventually spoke with the receptionist and was booked to see a new dentist as my last one had now left. Never got to see the new dentist as I had to cancel due to a domestic emergency, but with the inevitable parking problems you encounter there, how busy it is in general, and that impersonal feeling you get as a result, I decided to bite the bullet (another broken tooth) and now take the private route - where you are received more politely, have more time taken over you and see the same dentist on each visit. Yes, it is much more expensive, but if you are paying NHS charges for the same work to be repeated, that's not exactly cheap either.

Been a patient since my wife worked at Nottingham University over 20 years ago. Brilliant service from admin staff and hygienist - I am also lucky enough to have their best dental practitioner Patrick.

The Smile Centre

5 Victoria Embankment, Nottingham NG2 2JY, UK – 0115 986 4741

Excellent service today for tooth extraction. Everything explained fully and throughout asked if I was ok. Very nice people. Some advice though....when you send out appointment letters you might want to add more details about where to park. The letter mentions 2 hours outside which is fine but it was full. I went down the embankment and was about to leave the car when noticed you have to register to park for free. Spent a stressful 10 minutes trying to register online and ended up paying 20p for what is supposed to be free 2 hours. Allow extra time is my advice and be aware.

Have just read the reviews (whilst in the waiting room before my appointment). Everyone here works hard to look after you. I do not understand the criticisms of the reception staff. I have always found them to be friendly, courteous and helpful, both face to face and on the telephone. As a nervous patient this is a great help in that five minutes between arrival and being called for my appointment. As far as I'm concerned this is a 5* practice where I've had a range of treatments over the years.

Seven Dental

69-75 Radford Rd, Hyson Green, Nottingham NG7 5DR, UK – 0115 970 0007

I have just been here as an emergency patient. I cannot recommend them enough. What fabulous people from the receptionist to the dental nurses and the lovely dentist i saw Dr Perilla. As a nervous person the treatment and kindness i was shown was outstanding. Many thanks to you all.

Amazing team Ive person heard negative rumers about them but it's complete codswallop as they are brilliant, suite 6 has an amazing principal dentist Dr Hassan Bhojani who performed dentistry on me that was brilliant, he alone deserves a reward for putting up with me! Dr Hassan Bhojani deserves a personal reward for all his hard work he made me feel comfortable and calm, keep up the good work

One of the best surgery very polite always happy to help and response my personnel preference DR Raj she is the best by my opinion.

I want to thank all the staff at this surgery for being so helpful, compassionate and understanding. I was visiting from Ireland and ran out of my chronic medication. Had been turned down by so many pharmacies and surgeries for just one week supply of thyroxine (not a dangerous drug!!). The staff at Limetree were so helpful and the doctor was very understanding and accommodating. Exceptional service and caring! Thank you for treating me with such compassion as an ill person.

The Priory Hospital Nottingham

Ransom Rd, Nottingham NG3 5GS, UK – 0115 969 3388

The Nottingham Priory is unlike most other Priories in that it deals only with drugs and alcohol problems which is in my view a real advantage. Most other priory hospitals treat psychiatric conditions too. The 12-Step programme is not religious, or at least it is not meant to be. Unfortunately it gets taken over by overly zealous people and it can appear sinister. The facts are though that it is one of the most successful methodologies available. The only way to research what would suit you, other than visiting loads of clinics is to use a professional online referral agency such as Admit Services or WayAhead Rehab. Neither charges for their independent advice. Never pay a referral agency; you pay the clinic. But finding an ideal clinic is likely to be impossible. The Nottingham Priory suits a lot of people and there is little choice in Nottingham.

I entered the priory Nottingham for two weeks 1 detox and 1 "therapy" due to excess alcohol use after years of over the top consumption which was beginning to effect my business and family , whilst my stay was made comfortable by all concerned ie staff, nurses and patients I found the therapy side of my stay very sinister, I will explain later. week 1 involved detox which was spot on, the nurses were excellent and the medication prescribed in a very professional and monitored manner which made what is a very difficult process easier, if you've ever detoxed before you will know what I mean. week 2 involved "therapy", it is this side of things I didn't really agree with, firstly it involves a process called the 12 step program, I suggest you research this to see what it entails as it is extensively used but never really publicised, I had never heard of it before. personally I found it very religious and cultlike with a lot of personal things said in meetings which I found uncomfortable and if you aren't a religious person like myself it might be a bit hard to swallow. From a personal point of view I found the priory ok, but like I said do your research and ask questions. summery staff, nurses 10/10 premises 10/10 food 10/10 detox10/10 care 10/10 "therapy" -/1 theres not enough noughts, far too much emphasis on spirituality(religion) and the "Big Book" and 12 step nonsense hope this helps

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!

Redfield Road Household Waste and Recycling Centre

Redfield Rd, Nottingham NG7 2UJ, UK – 0115 986 2607

Advise: sort out rubbish per materials first. No household waste skip, have to take it back. There are sign for landfill, but they using it for other waste materials dump. The staff are seem unfriendly and can make you feel intimidate but they do their work well and they will guide you if you ask nicely.

Went down with a load full of mixed waste and Shane actually helped me sort through, organise and best advise me of how to dispose of the load. Pleasanlty surprised ✔️

Ania Polish Restaurant

558 Mansfield Rd, Nottingham NG5 2FS, UK – 0115 985 8666

This one took me by surprise and not necessarily in a good way. Having read many reviews directing me to the 'best restaurant in Nottingham' I was disappointed to find that the food was a little lack lustre. Don't get me wrong it was tasty and not doubt the recipes authentic polish, but it was mostly under seasoned, under ambitious and overall and little bland. The portion sizes were very generous though, and the chap serving us was a super hero! The drink menu was comprehensive. There is some. Parking outside, but give yourself 5 minutes to find one before your reservation.

Fantastic restaurant. We've been quite a few times now and will keep going back. Always a fab atmosphere and perfect food served and cooked by people who obviously care. Make sure you call in advance as it is always fully booked once you try it you will understand why

Primary and Secondary Schools

Nottingham High School

Waverley Mount, Nottingham NG7 4ED, UK – 0115 978 6056

The High School is the most prestigious school in the region and one of the best independent secondary schools in the United Kingdom. I have been in the school for quite a while now and it is definitely a school with outstanding teaching, but what makes this school a great place to study is that teachers are willing to spend their own personal time to assist students. The High School also offers a lot of co-curricular activities alongside general academic subjects, which adds to how diverse the School's range of activities are. Pastoral care is also excellent. Staff at the school are professional, well trained, willing to help and certainly not greedy for money (as many other reviews say) as I have personally been at the School. I would definitely recommend this School and it is well worth the money.

Nottingham high school is one of the best schools in England, not just for its phenomenal teachings but the warm feel it has for new pupils. I myself joined yr 7 and it has already been an experience of a lifeetime. I certainly recommend this school! -Will

Public & Preparatory Schools

St Josephs Independent School and Nursery

33 Derby Rd, Nottingham NG1 5AW, UK – 0115 941 8356

I have nothing but praise and thanks for St. Joseph’s School. My son joined in Year 6 and has had his best year of school so far. He has absolutely loved every day going to school: academically with the lessons being taught and, personally, with the friendships he has formed. All of the staff throughout the school are really welcoming and friendly. A special thanks to Miss Drinkwater who has been amazing in every aspect and someone whom my son has high regard for. He will dearly miss St. Joseph’s, but it has also prepared him for the next stage of his education. Our only regret was not discovering St. Joseph’s sooner.

The staff at this nursery are lovely caring people who only have the children's best interest at heart. I have worked here since i was a student and have loved every minute of it. I'm now a fully qualified nursery nurse and i know i couldn't of achieved this without the amazing support of all the staff and children. Don't just take my word for it, why not pop in and meet everyone. You wont be disappointed.
